JINA A. NAM has been practicing law since 1993. Ms. Nam obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from UCLA, and studied Victorian Literature at Cambridge University, England. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law, and passed the California State Bar Examination on her very first try.
A well-rounded attorney, Ms. Nam has focused exclusively on helping ordinary people and their families throughout her long legal career. While working for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Ms. Nam helped hundreds of crime victims find justice. As an indigent criminal defense attorney, she made sure that expert representation was not barred by economic barriers. In private practice, Ms. Nam has always focused on protecting individual rights. She has extensive jury trial and appellate experience in criminal as well as civil law, and her successful verdicts, awards, and appeals (including to the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals) have been documented in Verdictum Juris and other key legal publications.
As a dedicated community developer and activist, Ms. Nam also sits on the boards of directors for various non-profit organizations, organizes low-cost/free legal clinics for low income families, and is an adjunct professor of law and ethics. And as a certified mediator, Ms. Nam provides ordinary people with an affordable alternative to costly court fights.
